Questions, answered plainly
- What counts as a page?
- Every page of a PDF you submit for processing counts toward your monthly total — text or scanned, since scanned pages go through OCR. Metering is by pages submitted, not tokens, so a book's cost is simply its page count. An upload that would cross your remaining allowance is refused before processing starts — a book is never killed halfway through.
- Do I need a card to start?
- No — there is no card to start. We are onboarding new workspaces in small groups: sign up now, and when your workspace is activated it begins a 14-day trial of Standard. When the trial ends, the workspace drops to the Free plan on its own — nothing is charged and nothing is deleted.
- What happens when I hit my monthly page limit?
- New uploads that would cross the limit are refused before processing starts. Everything already in your register stays fully usable — the limit gates new processing, never access to your data. Upgrade from the billing page, or wait for the monthly reset.
- What happens if a payment fails?
- You keep full access for at least 14 days while you fix it. After that the workspace turns read-only — reading still works, Excel export still works, and data is never deleted over a billing problem. Update the card and write access returns.
- Can I change or cancel my plan?
- Yes, from the billing page. A first subscription goes through Stripe Checkout; after that, plan changes, card updates, invoices, and cancellation run through Stripe's portal. Cancelling drops the workspace to the Free plan; your projects stay readable and exportable.
- Is my data used to train AI models?
- No. We train no models on anything, and in production our processing worker refuses to start against an AI provider whose terms permit training on customer content. The security page answers this the way a vendor questionnaire would ask it.
